Laney's Birthday Eve

Tonight is Laney's birthday eve. We have been talking about her birthday for a while, and she keeps asking, "Is my birthday coming up?" Well, it will finally be here tomorrow! She is really excited. Her party is not for a few weekends, but of course we will celebrate tomorrow, too.

She is bringing Jello Jigglers to her friends tomorrow at Miss Eileen's. She had fun making them tonight. She ate about as many as she made!

Nature Fest

We went to Nature Fest with some friends and family this weekend. We got there kind of late, but the kids were still able to do a few things. One of the favorites was riding the ponies. Laney, Hannah, and Hope loved it! We tried to get pictures of the 3 cousing with their pumpkins and in front of a tee pee, but it didn't work out. Getting 3 wild, little girls to smile and look at the camera on cue is nearly impossible!

Laney's New Quilt

Laney's "Big Girl" room has been a work in progress, and yesterday she received her special quilt that Dee Dee made for her. She was so excited to see it on her bed, and sleep with it for the first time last night! She is a lucky girl to have such a talented and generous Dee Dee!

Going back to work!

I never thought I would be so excited to go back to work, but I am! We are going a little stir crazy around here with not much to do. With the extra time off due to the hurricane, you would think that we would be doing all kinds of fun things. Unfortunately, it is too much trouble to go many places because of the bad traffic and gas problems. We have had fun playing with our cousins and neighbor, though. It has been nice to spend some quality time, with Laney, too.

It will be nice to get back to school, and get on with the things that need to be taught. Who knows when we'll be making the days up...I am sure they won't let us get away without it!

A Brand New Blog!

Well, I have decided to start a new blog. Over the summer I spent so much time viewing friends' blogs, that I thought it was time for me to get one up and running again. Hopefully this will be a great way for me to keep in touch with everyone, and I promise to be better at updating this one than the last.

I know it is September, but let me backtrack for a second. We had a wonderful summer, spending a week with each side of the family at two different beaches. We also spent a lot of time at the pool and playing with friends. Below are some of our favorite pictures from the summer.

Now I am back at school, and Laney is enjoying seeing all of her friends at Ms. Eileen's house every day. We have a bit of a break this week, due to Hurricane Ike hitting the gulf coast. We were fortunate to have minimal damage, and only lost power for 2 days. There are so many people who suffered worse than us, so we feel very lucky.
